A set of 2, charcoal-fired ceremonial tea cup made of black clay, hand crafted by Korean ceramist Yu-Jeong Kim. The unique textures, colors and surfaces of these tea cups demonstrate the excitement and immediacy of Raku. The process demands skill from the artist who removes the piece from a red-hot kiln requiring physicality and intuition as there is a creative unpredictability to Raku, which is influenced by the fire. This tea cup evokes a beautiful raw wabi sabi feel with a soft palette of white and light coral colors and numerous different textures. It captures the spirit of the earth and the artist has used masterful skill and techniques to create a wonderful vessel. Special gift item for tea lovers! One of a kind. Made in Korea.
